The Discovery Series

On your journey of living a life in Christ, we want to equip you with the knowledge and background to understand what it truly means to know Christ, to be a part of the fellowship of believers known as the Church, to serve Christ in your everyday life, and ultimately, to bring others into a saving relationship with Christ. We have broken these topics down into four classes we call The Discovery Series. Theses four classes consist of 101: Knowing Christ; 201: Growing In Christ; 301: Serving Christ; and 401: Sharing Christ. Take some time to learn more about what each of these classes discuss and when they are offered. If you have any questions, please contact the Adult Discipleship Ministry.

“101: Knowing Christ” is designed with the intention of helping you understand exactly what it means to have a saving relationship with Christ, and what Shelby Christian is as a church. We want you to understand where we stand as a body of believers so that you can make a truly informed decision about your involvement in this church and how it will impact your personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

“201: Growing In Christ” seeks to help you develop the habits necessary for spiritual growth. 201 focuses on developing a basic grasp of the Bible and what it teaches. 201 also focuses on getting plugged into a small group to develop relationships with other believers and encourage one another. 201 also teaches practical ways of developing a daily bible study and prayer time.

Saturday, October 27 - 9:00 AM

“301: Serving Christ” focuses on developing a commitment to discovering and using your God given gifts and abilities in serving God and others. In the course of 301, you will learn the importance of giving back to God as He has given to you through tithing. You will also learn about all the ways you can serve God in the body of Christ by getting plugged into a ministry team or area. 301 also teaches practical ways to share your faith with others.

Sunday, October 28 - 4:00 AM

“401: Sharing Christ” is the final course in the Discovery Series, and it is dedicated to developing a commitment within you to share the Good News of Christ’s love with others. We as a body of Christ want to be a group of people that are focused on building bridges to our world! 401 will help you to develop a heart for the world and become mobilized in your love for others by serving in the local community and world abroad, whether that be through service projects or mission opportunities.
