SHELBY CHRISTIAN EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRY

Shelby Christian has always had a passion for leading young people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that children are not only the church of the future, but that they are also a part of today’s church. It is for this reason that we strive to provide excellent programming and care for the preschool age children in hopes of ministering to their needs and the needs of their families.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the early childhood ministry of Shelby Christian Church is to help introduce young people to Christ Jesus and come alongside them for the purpose of helping them to grow up in Him.

 We will partner with parents to start building the foundation of God’s love in their child

“Jesus said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’”

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMMING

POWERHOUSE PRESCHOOL

 Powerhouse has a goal to introduce every child to God and His word in a way that they can understand. Children see Jesus through caring leaders who love them as He does.

 The children sing songs, share together in a lesson time, work on crafts and activity pages, and enjoy a snack. Each class has it’s own private toddler bathroom, learning centers, and age appropriate toys.

 Powerhouse Preschool meets during both worship hours on Sunday morning, providing both children and their parents the opportunity to grow in their love and knowledge of who God is and how much He loves us!

SHINING STARS

 Shining Stars is a fun-filled hour of activity learning, crafts, and object lessons designed for our young learners. Children are grouped according to age and invited to learn about God’s love and about the great stories found in the Bible. Our facilities are well equipped with centers geared for these ages and our staff truly loves the opportunity to come alongside each one of these children.

 Shining Stars meet in the Christian Life Center preschool rooms every Wednesday night.

WHAT PRESCHOOLERS WILL LEARN...

 Children learn the truths taught in the bible in a very interactive, hands on manner. Loving teachers do an excellent job of presenting the message so every student can learn about the great stories of the Bible.

 God’s word stands forever! It’s truths are timeless and we want every young person to get an early start on their faith. We want all of our children to be active in a specially designed class geared for their own age group.

 Our 2 year old learners spend time singing, playing, learning that God made all things, learning that God loves them, and that the Bible is a special book about God and Jesus.

 Our 3 year olds learn that God created the world and that He cares for everyone, that Jesus is God’s special Son and that He did kind and loving things when he lived on the earth. They also learn that the Bible is God’s Word and that it tells us true stories about God, Jesus, and lots of great people who loved God.

 Our 4 & 5 years old class learns basic information about God; He made the world, He cares for people, and he forgives us when we are sorry for doing wrong. Children also learn that Jesus died to take the punishment for the wrong things we have done and that He rose from the dead and is alive! They are taught that the Bible tells us to obey God and that we can talk to God in prayer.
