MISSION STATEMENT

 The Prayer Ministry of Shelby Christian Church exists to bathe in prayer our church family, our leaders, those in spiritual and physical need, those in need of salvation, our community and country, and the world around us. We believe that prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have, and the Prayer Ministry desires to help make prayer an important and active part of our daily lives as well as our collective church body. The Prayer Ministry seeks to organize and put in place effective, active prayer ministries in which anyone may participate. The Prayer Ministry is available to anyone and everyone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. WS believes in the power of prayer, and the Prayer Ministry will seek to equip people with the tools they need to incorporate prayer time with God in their every day lives.

PRAYER WARRIORS

Our Prayer Warriors take turns covering our worship services in prayer. Those that are praying go to the prayer room on a scheduled rotating system and pray during one worship service per month. You will either pray alone, with a spouse, or with a close friend at your request. There is a prayer notebook in the room with a manuscript of the message, lists of teachers in our various educational areas, as well as people considering accepting Christ and/or placing membership in the church.

PRAYER PARTNERS

 Hopefully we all are praying for the church on a daily basis. This ministry is for those who are willing to take one day a month to concentrate some periods of focused prayer on behalf of the ministries of Shelby Christian Church. You will receive a monthly prayer calendar as well as periodic calls or emails on your specific day if a special need has arisen. This can be done at home, the office, in the prayer room at church, or anywhere you want to go.

HEAVEN’S HEDGE

 In Job 1:10 we read about a hedge of protection that God had placed around his servant Job. Satan knew that as long as that hedge was in place there was nothing he could do to Job. We need a team of people to pray for a hedge of protection around our ministerial staff and their families. Each minister has designated some key times that they feel the need for prayer and we want to cover them with “Heaven’s Hedge” of protection during those times. If you would be willing to help provide that hedge of protection, please contact designate the minister you would like to be praying for. You will be sent information about the special times you need to be praying for that minister.
