The Shelby Christian Sportsmen

Fellowship exists to reach, equip, and

impact the world for Christ through

fellowship, accountability, prayer,

support, Bible study, community service, and more!

The Christian Sportsmen Fellowship is made up of men who are united in their passion for the great outdoors and a growing commitment to Jesus Christ. The Christian Sportsmen Fellowship is made up of outdoorsmen from all walks of life, professions, backgrounds, and experiences. Aside from great food, fun, and fellowship, The Christian Sportsmen Fellowship challenge those in attendance to find answers to real life issues when listening to God while experiencing outdoor adventure. It also challenges them to serve God through serving the church family and community.

As sportsmen, we need to consider the responsibility of building quality relationships with our wives, sons, daughters and other family members as well as building lifelong friendships with fellow hunting and fishing enthusiasts. Our Christian heritage continues to hand down to the sportsman a responsibility to invest quality time together with family and friends in passing along the Christian faith from one generation to the next.

MONTHLY MEETINGS

The Shelby Christian Sportsmen Fellowship meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 PM to fellowship, share our passion for the outdoors, and share in God’s word. Anyone is invited to attend, and all guests are welcomed!

RESPONSIBILITY

We as Christian sportsmen accept our obligation to preserve our natural resources and to protect and perpetuate every living species. It remains our biblical convictions that proper ethical behavior when pursuing game, fish or foul will ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy the hunting and fishing privileges and opportunities that we possess today.

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.' …. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything'." (Gen. 1:27-28, Gen 9:1-3 NIV)

TESTIMONY

The Sportsmen Fellowship is a place where relationships are built on the foundation of Christ. The friendships formed give accountability, provide the support of prayer and service, and support each other in even the toughest of circumstances. Below is a testimony from someone who saw the benefit of these relationships first hand:

“When my brother Rick received the news that he had cancer, he reverted to doing the things that were the most important to him; the things that made him comfortable, maybe gave him strength, his closest of friends and his most favorite of pastimes. That he picked you, the men of the Sportsmen Fellowship, is a great statement about you, your membership, and the active fellowship you provide for one another. He really loved you all. Thanks for holding him up physically. Thanks for holding him up spiritually and mentally. The load on his shoulders was immeasurable, and he came to you because he believed in you and it made him comfortable. His closest of friends and most favorite of pastimes, the backs of strong men holding him up with God.”
