PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Worship Ministry of Shelby Christian Church exists to lift up Christ through Worship, using our God-given talents and abilities to engage each individual in active Worship leading them to a more personal relationship with God.

Praise Team

Members of the Praise Team serve as lead worshippers during weekend worship opportunities. Praise Team members serve on a rotating basis and may be subject to an audition. To contact the worship ministry about serving on the Praise Team, click here.

 

Praise Band

Members of the Praise Band the musical accompaniment to the weekend worship experience. The Praise Band involves both Professional musicians and those who simply love to use their talents in music to create an experience that glorifies God. The Praise Band members serve on a rotating basis, and a level of musical proficiency is required to participate. An audition may be required. Choir

The Choir is made up of individuals who love to use their voices to praise God. The choir serves in morning worship services at various times, as well as presenting several special worship experiences throughout the year. These events, such as the Easter Musical, the Harvest Homecoming, and the Christmas presentation, use a combination of music, drama, and media to present the message of Christ's love. WORSHIP TEAM EXPECTATIONS
  • This person is a Bible-believing follower of Christ, living a life called to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and His Church.
  • This person lives a life that loves others, as Paul talks about in Romans 12:10: “Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.” (The Message)
  • This person works well within a team environment and under the leadership of the church.
  • This person does not have a goal to be in the spotlight. Instead, they look forward to however they can fit in and contribute to what God is doing through the worship ministry of the church.
  • This person communicates effectively with co-workers and volunteers, so that nothing is left unsaid that needs to be said, and nothing is left unclear that needs to be clarified.
  • This person recognizes the importance of timeliness and commitment in attendance for rehearsals and when scheduled to serve.
  • At the end of the day, this person understands worship is not just about the music or the experience – it’s about God and what He’s doing in and through His people through every facet of ministry at the church.
