MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the nursery ministry of Shelby Christian Church is to help introduce young people to Christ Jesus and come alongside them for the purpose of helping them to grow up in Him.

The Nursery will provide a safe, loving, fun, and comfortable environment for your child. It will partner with you to start building the foundations of God's love in your child.

"Jesus said to them, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.'"- Mark 10:14-15

CHECK IN PROCEDURES

All children must be signed in at the registration desk You and your child will receive a tag with a number on it. If at any time during the service we need to contact you, your number will appear on the screen in the worship center. If you are in an Adult Bible Fellowship class, someone will come to that class and notify you. When picking up your child, you will need to present the matching tag and leave it with the teacher.

Also, once you enter the nursery, there will be a nursery information sheet. Here you will enter your child's name and any special instructions or needs. This will be placed with your child's diaper bag. Additional information will be filled in by the workers so that you will know what went on with your child.

Please label diaper bags, clothing, and other personal items with the child's full name.

ILLNESS

Children who are sick (colored mucus from the nose, vomiting, or fever within the last 24 hours, skin rash, etc.) will not be allowed in the nursery. If your child develops a fever or other illness symptoms, you will be asked to take your child. No medication will be given to any child in the nursery department. Parents should report any allergies to the nursery workers.

FOOD

In the infant nursery, no snacks will be provided. For safety reasons, the nursery staff cannot mix formula for the babies. Please mix prior to dropping off your child.

There will be snacks given in the crawler and toddler rooms. If you child has a food allergy or a special need related to food, please notify the nursery worker and fill in the information on the registration card.

NURSERY ROOMS

 The Nursery Department is made up of three rooms: Infants (Birth—6 months); Crawlers (6 months—18 months); and Toddlers (18 months—24 months). Each room will be staffed by at least 2 workers per service. Additional workers will be used as needed to maintain a 3-1 ratio.

 All babies in the Infant room will be cared for by adults only. There is a private area in this room for nursing moms.

 Children in the Crawler and Toddler rooms are cared for by adults and teenage apprentices.

 At 24 months, your child can be promoted to the Preschool area.
