PURPOSE STATEMENT

God has created all of us as worshipers with the ability to respond to all that He is with all that we are. Those serving on the Shelby Christian worship team invite you to join us in an encounter with the living, creative, loving, and redeeming God who delights in the worship of His people. We invite you to encounter this transcendent God ... and respond with your life.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

VOCAL COMMUNITY
Our rotational team of lead-worshipers is comprised of highly skilled vocalists with a heart for leading people in worship. This team requires an audition. We're on a journey together and the door is always open for new worshipers to come on board. Complete a Worship Ministry Interest Form and indicate that you'd like to schedule an audition for the Worship Team.
BAND COMMUNITY
Our rotational instrumental team is made up of highly skilled instrumentalists with a heart for worship. Most regularly, we use piano, keyboard, guitars (acoustic, electric, bass), drums and auxiliary percussion. Occasionally, we also incorporate strings, woodwinds, brass, etc. The instrumental team requires an audition. Complete a Worship Ministry Interest Form and indicate that you would like to schedule an audition. |

WORSHIP TEAM EXPECTATIONS
|
|
|
|
- This person is a Bible-believing follower of Christ, living a life called to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and His Church.
- This person lives a life that loves others, as Paul talks about in Romans 12:10: "Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle." (The Message)
- This person works well within a team environment and under the leadership of the church.
- This person does not have a goal to be in the spotlight. Instead, they look forward to however they can fit in and contribute to what God is doing through the worship ministry of the church.
- This person communicates effectively with co-workers and volunteers, so that nothing is left unsaid that needs to be said, and nothing is left unclear that needs to be clarified.
- This person recognizes the importance of timeliness and commitment in attendance for rehearsals and when scheduled to serve.
- At the end of the day, this person understands worship is not just about the music or the experience – it's about God and what He's doing in and through His people through every facet of ministry at the church.
